Skills Bootcamps are substantially funded, bespoke 60-hour training programmes, which enable Sole Traders and SME employees to upskill in level 2/3 accredited training.
Candidates will be required to attend an on-boarding call with the technical tutor and participation is subject to confirmation of prerequisite qualification attainment.
The Skills Bootcamp training programmes are substantially funded by the Department for Education (DFE), as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee. SME organisations (under 250 employees) need to contribute £380 (VAT Exempt) towards the training. Large organisations (over 250 employees) need to contribute £1,140 (VAT Exempt) towards the training. All participation is subject to confirmation of prerequisite qualification attainment.
Sole Traders can also apply and they will be 100% funded by the DFE, provided they hold the required pre-requisite entry qualifications and are ICO registered.
This programme trains individuals working in domestic environments to install, service, and maintain ventilation systems. It covers accurately determining ventilation needs for properties and provides skills in design, installation, testing, commissioning, handover, servicing, and fault-finding, following National Occupational Standards.
Pre-requisites: Trainees should hold a formal craft qualification eg. N/SVQ 2/3 in Electrical Plumbing, Heating and Ventilation and have a working knowledge of the construction of dwellings. Alternatively, candidates may hold relevant experience within the industry.
This training programme for experienced heating installers (gas, LPG, solid fuel, oil, or biomass) focuses on low-temperature heating and hot water systems in domestic and small commercial properties, including Part L building regulation changes. It provides knowledge and practical skills for installing and maintaining efficient Heat Pump Systems.
Pre-requisites: Trainees must hold an N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing (or relevant field) or CCN1 and CENWAT, if gas qualifications are held, along with Water Regulations and Bylaws.
This programme aligns with UK regulations and National Level standards. It meets minimum technical competency for Solar PV and Electrical Energy Storage Systems (IET Code of Practice, BS 7671: 2018) and is recognized for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
Pre-requisites: Trainees must hold a Level 3 NVQ In Electrical Installation in Building Structures and Construction along with BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition Wiring).
From 1 April 2023 all privately rented non-domestic properties, regardless of whether there has been a change in tenancy or not, need to meet the minimum standard EPC rating of ‘E’ to be complied with the new regulations.
From 1st April 2027 the minimum rating in scope of MEES is set to change from EPC E to EPC C as a stepping stone for 1st April 2030 whereby all commercial properties will need to have a minimum EPC B to be let out.
